Our Support of Hood County American Cancer Society

TEAM LGWOA spent the night at Granbury Middle School to support the American Cancer Society's 2010 Relay for Life. Several members walked the track to honor family and friends who had fallen victim to this horrible disease. The track was lined with luminaries as our members and friends walked for spouses, parents, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles, and others who fought valiantly and lost, or thankfully survived. Many of our own members walked in the Survivors Lap, others proudly circled as Care Givers, all were deeply moved to see how many Granbury lives were touched by this dreaded disease. We have a team every year. Please join us this year on Friday. Watch for information for the 2011 Relay for Life.
The First Annual Granbury Downs was held at the Plaza on the Square last May. Six Derby horses ran for the roses to raise money for the Relay for Life event that many of our members participated in a week later. This will be an annual event. Join in the fun this year!

LGWOA & Friends

In 2011 TEAM LGWOA raised more than $3000 for ACC Relay for Life here in Granbury. Members held a garage sale in a parking lot, sold bake goods at the Granbury Downs event, and brought in donations for the Relay for Life lap events. We are proud of our members and thier support of this great charity.
